What more appropriate place for a fortune than under a light that evokes a crystal ball?

Born in Illinois in the mid-1950s and raised in West Texas and North Carolina, I was never quite sure whether to be a gangster, a cowgirl or a Southern Belle. Now, at 60-something, I think I have some of it figured out and am ready to share some of my hard-fought-for wisdom with the rest of the world.   2. There is some nice repetition of shapes going on here between the shade, doily, and base. Nice composition!
    May I make an observation? Because the bulb is so white and contrasted by a ring of black, it pulls the eye directly to it, distracting from the overall composition. Have you considered toning down the bulb, just slightly?
