Born in Illinois in the mid-1950’s and raised in West Texas and North Carolina, I was never quite sure whether to be a gangster, a cowgirl or a Southern Belle. Now, a 50-something living in New Mexico – the Land of Enchantment – I think I have some of it figured out. I’m ready to share some of my hard-fought-for wisdom with the rest of the world through arts, crafts, sharing and caring. Well, anyone who is willing to read along and have a little laugh at themselves occasionally. I hope you visit often!
I love synchronicity. Though not born in Illinois, I lived there for a short time before I got married and moved to Texas. I yearning to get back there. It’s warmer than here, and even in winter, it manages to not plunge down below the upper teens. Here, not so much. We’re barely coming up out of subzero days. Anyway, we’re thinking of eventually ‘retiring’ to West Texas, around Fort Davis. It just made me smile to see two of the places I’ve lived pop up here. 🙂
I love how you express that the places we’ve been define us, in our heads, at the very least. It’s sort of like that movie, “If it’s Tuesday, It Must Be Belgium.” Or maybe not like it at all lol.
Now, THIS is a cool tidbit for me.
